Muskegon River Steelhead Fishing Report – Newaygo, MI – April 2, 2016

Muskegon river steelhead

Scott, from IN, holds a “sampling” of his and Brad’s catch over their 2 day outing on the Muskegon river.

The Muskegon river near Newaygo, MI is running above average flows at this time due to the rains that came through most of Michigan earlier in the week.

Fishing has been good and with both fly fishing and light spin tackle setups,  we’re catching pre-spawn spring steelhead in pools and runs near spawning grounds.

Present water temperature in the 42-43 degree range.
