Muskegon River Fishing Report – June 22, 2016
Muskegon river fishing report for June 22, 2016 includes a combination of fishing options for both resident trout on nymphs, wet and dry flies as well as streamers, along with a good Smallmouth bass population in the river as we approach the last week of June.
Fishing for trout can be with indicator nymphing setups, swinging wet flies and dry flies when the opportunities present themselves. Hatches are still occurring, but sporadic at times and finding that “window” when both insects are emerging and trout are keyed in on them, can be hit or miss some days.
Smallmouth bass fishing is improving and will only get better as we get into warmer river temperatures. Some REALLY nice smallies are around, just need to entice them to go after your offering.
Present water temperature is in the 65-67 degree range.
