Muskegon River Fishing Report – November 8, 2017 – Newaygo, MI
The Muskegon river fishing report for November 8, 2017 in the Newaygo, MI area is about our fall steelhead run !
As the last of the Chinook salmon complete their annual spawning run, the steelhead are close by gobbling up loose eggs and insects that are kicked up during the salmon spawn.
With both fly fishing and light spin tackle equipment, we’re targeting in the pools and runs they occupy this time of the year.
Options are numerous for both conventional anglers and fly fishing enthusiasts.
River conditions are good overall, with a slight tea stain and water temperatures in the upper 40’s.
We will have a long steelhead season on the Muskegon river, with good fishing going well into January most years.
